Samhain (pronounced sow•win)
The birth of Halloween comes from the celtic (Iriish) pagan festival to celebrate the end of the harvesting year as the dark half of the year arrived. This liminal space where the membrane of the veil thinned, allowed the other side, sìdhe, gods, and ancestors alike, to make an appearance.
The otherworld is here. I was visited by a handful of spirits last night. At first I thought it was only a dream, but I felt their presence linger long after I awoke. I figured they were random spirits passing through, but after doing a tarot reading this morning, they revealed they are tied to me in some way and will continue to work alongside me.
Before leaving on my trip I pulled cards that told me I would continue my Priestess work on the other side of the world. Now I understand what that meant. It is my job to follow their guidance. I know this will be an opportunity
to expand my gifts even more so I may help more people.
Though it continues to scare me, I know I have to push through the fear. Since childhood I've tried to push the other side away, and deny that they were there. No matter how hard I tried it didn't end, so I might as well lean into it, especially if it will help others heal.
