While programs like Babies Can’t Wait do not provide an official diagnosis for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), we play an important role in connecting families to the resources they need.

If your child has been diagnosed, or you have concerns, reach out to us.
We’re here to help guide you, support you, and connect you with services that make a difference.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to grow, thrive, and be supported for who they are.

Let’s shift the focus from limitations to possibilities.
Let’s create space to truly see their ability.

💙 April is Autism Awareness Month 💙

This month, we’re raising awareness, sharing resources, and supporting families across the 13 counties we serve.

At East Central Health District, our Child Health programs are here to help guide families every step of the way. While we do not provide autism diagnoses, we do connect families to trusted providers and services in the community.

Here’s how we support children and families:

• Babies Can’t Wait (BCW): Early intervention support for children with developmental delays. Children identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are automatically eligible (Category 1).
• CMS & Children 1st: Help families navigate care, services, and resources.
• Community Referrals: We connect families to evaluation providers and share local ABA therapy resources.

If you have concerns about your child’s development, support is available—and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

April is Adult Immunization Month—a great time to check your vaccine status and make sure you’re up to date.

Staying current on recommended vaccines helps protect you from serious illness and helps protect those around you. Many adults are due for vaccines without even realizing it.

East Central Health District offers immunizations and preventive services across our locations, with additional access through our Mobile Health Unit throughout the community.

❤️ Go Red for Women® | National Wear Red Day®

Friday, February 6, 2026

February is American Heart Month, and on National Wear Red Day, the nation comes together to spotlight women’s cardiovascular health.

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, yet it is often misunderstood, under-diagnosed, and under-recognized. National Wear Red Day exists to change that.

By going red, we:

Raise awareness about heart disease and stroke in women

Share life-saving information and resources

Support research, education, and prevention efforts

From landmarks and workplaces to neighborhoods and online communities, millions unite for one purpose: saving more women’s lives. When we wear red, we are seen, counted, and heard.

❤️ Wear red
📣 Share information
🤝 Support women’s heart health

Together, we are stronger than heart disease and stroke.

National Wear Red Day®

The first Friday in February is a reminder to put heart health first, especially for women. Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women, yet many risks are preventable with awareness and action.

This Friday, wear red to show your support, start the conversation, and encourage the women in your life to know their numbers, listen to their bodies, and prioritize heart health.

Wear red for yourself.
Wear red for someone you love.
