Spread awareness, break the stigma, make time for you!

Halloween isn’t the same experience for everyone. In the past 72 hours we’ve had sessions about:

🎃 anxiety over scary decorations
👻 getting omitted from friend group costume
🎃 wanting to dress up but severe sensory difficulties limit choices
👻 wanting to trick or treat but afraid they’re too old and will be judged
🎃 allergy anxieties (both kids and parents)
👻 tendencies to meltdown when overwhelmed

Please remember there’s no “right” way to spend any holiday, do what’s right for your child and family. And when answering the door if every single child isn’t happy, appreciative, and polite realize there’s likely a reason, they’re not just “bratty kid.”

Happy and safe Halloween to all, however it’s done!

It’s opening day and I cannot WAIT to see it! Pixar nailed emotions, memory, and development in their first movie. Now in “Pixar years” Riley is a teenager, so new emotions are introduced, Envy, Ennui, and Embarrassment, with none other than anxiety at the control panel!
