Sunny volunteered with me today and was an absolute angel, teaching the Girl Scouts a lesson on the Neuroscience of Stress combined with our beautiful lesson on positive affirmations. You can hear their cute little voices in the video, “I am beautiful. I am smart. I am capable”.

I had such a super cute day, I got to teach these 2nd grade Girl Scouts Mission Be Inc. with Sunny 🦮🩷, she was such an angel! Our lesson was on the Neuroscience of Stress combined with our beautiful lesson on positive affirmations. “I am beautiful. I am smart. I am capable”.

It is because of our donors that we can do this work at no cost to the Girl Scouts! ☘️❤️. Thank you everyone who supports Mission Be.

From a principal in NYC, “One day, I overheard a 2nd grader talk to an upset classmate, ‘hold my hands, and let’s close our eyes and breathe together.’ We have found that the mindfulness practices that Mission Be trained educators have had a direct impact on our school culture. Students have started using some techniques taught in the program to help students manage stress and learn to better manage their stress. Teachers have integrated some of the breathing exercises and visualizations into their daily schedules to help students during transitions from one subject to another. Students seem to be more self-aware of their emotions when they are upset and now have tools to reduce their stress on their own. As a result, the mindfulness training has helped students to focus better on their learning that results on them being more productive, successful and confident about their ability to concentrate. The training has also improved student behavior because students and teachers realize that they have tools and practices they can do in the moment to reduce stress. As a result, students seem to be much more empathetic toward one another that have had a direct impact on the school culture. Thank you!”

A wonderful and supportive Mission Be fan asked me a great question yesterday, about where a general donation goes to Mission Be. I explained it goes to our general funds to cover all sorts of expenses, but that we give away free services every week at no cost to those who can’t afford it. Before starting my morning meditation, I thought to myself, let me see how many services we are giving away this week. I want to share with the world how much free services we provide even in just a week:

💚Today on Tuesday, our team is scheduled to go see the Girl Scouts on Long Island. There will be no charge for that service.

❤️Tomorrow on Wednesday, one of our educators will be at the Stanford Children’s Hospital at the Ronald McDonald house school. They will be no charge for that service.

🩵Then on Thursday, I will see a child from the Bronx whose family cannot afford the program, that child will be seen for free.

💜Monday, I will go to the Nassau County juvenile detention center. There’s typically two groups of students were only paid for one through a grant The second group will get our program for free. That’s just in one week.

Also during this week into next, we will also impact schools that can afford to hire us and that are committed to mindfulness and SEL, keep in mind that this is not all our work, this is just this week and next below on Long Island:

🩵We will host a full day retreat for students in Bayport Bluepoint High School.

🤍We will conduct an entire day of workshops at Roslyn High School.

❤️We will implement our program in many classes East Islip Schools.

💛We will implement our program many classes at Bay Shore Schools. This video is from Marnie in Bay Shore yesterday, I observed her and she did a great job. 👏

🧡In March, I will head to California where 100% of our programming is covered by grants from local healthcare districts, private donors and grants. We will impact schools in Mountain View and Los Altos and Santa Cruz.

I’m so proud of our team and our volunteers who make this possible and to our donors, board and council members and everyone who supports Mission Be.
