A Lesson in Obedience - Joshua

If there’s anything Joshua‘s life exemplifies it’s a life of obedience:
* As Moses’s assistant
* As a spy/scout to the promised land
* As leader of the Israelites after Moses

Nowhere do we find evidence that Joshua was a man of exceptional strength, intelligence, or talent.

What made Joshua extraordinary was his obedience.

And when the people followed Joshua’s example of obedience, they prospered.

This isn’t name it and claim it theology. It’s history, and a great example of obedience, loyalty, and faith.

Being obedient and completing the task that God has called you is what is required.

And it may or may not make sense to anyone around you.

It may not even make sense to you.

But when God speaks, we would be wise to follow Joshua’s example and:
* Bow down in reverence at his feet
* Ask what is required
* Then obey… and know that it will be

Are you listening? Are you expecting?

“Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened.” - Matthew 7:7

May you find rest and peace knowing that God always keeps his promises.

We can be “confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;” - Philippians 1:6

God's delays ≠ God's denials ⏳

You're demanding NOW. El Olam is working FOREVER.

His timing > Your timeline ✨

Abraham waited 25 years for Isaac. Twenty-five years of wondering if God forgot. But El Olam wasn't late—He was perfect. Every delay accomplished eternal purposes Abraham couldn't see yet.

Key Truth: While you're waiting for answers, El Olam is arranging circumstances, preparing people, and developing character you'll need. Your waiting is never wasted.

While Everything is Changing... EL OLAM NEVER DOES. ⚓✨

The Reality:
- Relationships? Change.
- Jobs? Change.
- Health? Changes.
- Security? Shifts.
- El Olam? Never.

Hebrews 13:8 - "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

What This Means:
- His love for you doesn't fluctuate based on your performance.
- His promises from years ago are still valid today.
- His character in the past guarantees His faithfulness in your future.

The Difference:
- Human love: conditional, changing, performance-based
- El Olam's love: constant, unchanging, character-based

You can't earn more. You can't lose what you have. It's immutable.

Are your FAILURES making you DOUBT GOD'S PROMISES? 🤔

Here's the truth:
El Shaddai's covenant is secured by His all-sufficient power—not your perfect performance.

Let's be honest about Abraham's track record:
• Lied about Sarah being his wife (twice—same sin, same failure)
• Tried to fulfill God's promise through Hagar instead of waiting
• Laughed at God's promise (actual unbelief, not joy)
• Tried to negotiate God down to accepting Ishmael

And yet? El Shaddai still called him, still blessed him, still kept every promise. Why?

The Answer: Because God's promises rest on God's power and faithfulness—not on our perfection.

Scripture: Genesis 17:1 - "I am God Almighty [El Shaddai]; walk before me faithfully and be blameless."

This call to faithfulness is an invitation to relationship, not a performance contract. God knew Abraham would stumble. He knows you will too. And He chose to base the covenant on His unchanging character, not your inconsistent behavior.

This Means for You: When you mess up—when you sin, fail, or fall short—El Shaddai's promises don't evaporate. The covenant doesn't break when you break because it's held together by His all-sufficient strength, not your flawed efforts.

El Shaddai's sufficiency covers your insufficiency. His power compensates for your weakness. His faithfulness outlasts your failures.
