Mark your calendars! Friday, August 2nd we will be visited by Daisy Girl Scouts Troop 04219! The troop is working on their last petal - Make the World a Better Place - and they’ve decided to do that through kindness. We’ll be accommodating the troop at our center on the 2nd. The girls worked on friendship bracelets for the members and wrote down some get-to-know-you questions! We’ll be pairing up each Daisy Scout with a member and they’ll have time during a craft to get to know each other and bring smiles to their faces. If you’d like to attend, please consider adding that day to your schedule or swapping days if needed! It’s going to be a wonderful day! Please contact the center to make the necessary additions or changes!

July’s Food for Thought: The French Croissant 🥐 We discussed the origin of croissants, learned how to properly pronounce the word, & see just how they’re made. Member’s reminisced and told their tales of baking triumphs & tragedies. We were all jealous to learn that member Schuyler had the best croissant of his life IN LONDON! Oh! & of course we had to eat some! 😉

We made our own butter! 🧈 😋 Heavy whipping cream & a pinch of salt - Shake! Shake! Shake!
Participants observed how it went from a liquid to a whipped consistency, and then eventually it separated and left us with butter! 😁👍🏼 they enjoyed it on their bread at lunch.
This activity was paired with a video & discussion about dairy farming, as well as a coloring page 🐮 🖍️
