Real food in the new dietary guidelines? Here's my opinion on the changes as a real food registered dietitian. What changed, what didn't, what's good, and what needs improvement.

I recently received this text from a client. It made me chuckle 😃 Maybe it will make you smile too.

"Having normal home births makes watching movies with a birth in it very weird. We watched the Nativity Story and Mary goes from "the baby is pressing" to pushing and delivered in less than five minutes while she has nonstop contractions with no breaks. And on a first baby too.
I watched poor Mary and Elizabeth trying to deliver their babies and thought, they are just making it so much harder on themselves by all that teeth clenching and neck straining.
And the 80 mile donkey ride? I'm 99% sure it would be much better to just walk all the way to Bethlehem.

All that to say, I'm so thankful for our birth experiences and a different view of normal birth."
