Overwhelmed 😩 this is where my journey began with meditation.

I was so overwhelmed by a traumatic situation in life that I didn't even know what to do. Looking back I realize that I had lived on autopilot for more years than I care to acknowledge 🙄

Yep, me, the mindfulness coach and meditation teacher once ignored life. I was literally just going through the motions from one day to the next doing the bare minimum to get by. It may not surprise you to hear that I was miserable!

After I started facing some health issues and physical ailments (caused by my body being under chronic stress), I realized that I was not doing myself any favors. I needed to start living life again instead of watching the days pass me by.

Guess what? I did it! 👏🏻

I started meditation (among trying other things) to try and find myself again. I needed to work through the stress that I had brushed under the rug for so long. I needed to connect to who I was and what I wanted in life. These were things that I hadn't addressed for a very long time. In order to do that I had to get real, I had to quiet all the noise, dig in and be truthful and honest with myself.

Once I realized the power, had firsthand experience, I learned to teach. This is why it is so important to me to share how meditation can help work through overwhelm. How if you're stuck in it like I was, it can help you come out the other side with enthusiasm and enjoy life again!

Meditation has been known to reduce stress and anxiety through:
👉🏻 lowering levels of cortisol, a stress hormone. High cortisol, especially over a long period of time can be detrimental to overall well-being. I encourage you to avoid that as much as possible!
👉🏻 promoting relaxation and calmness. Focusing your attention and eliminate the mind chatter that causes stress, thus being more peaceful.
👉🏻 encouraging positivity. Research shows that meditation can stimulate the release of endorphins that boost your mood!

RAW Wellness was born after having our two sons. It’s an acronym for them, the R. and A. are their names + our last name W. = RAW. It is because of them that I realized the importannce of mental and physical wellness. I am passionate about living an intentional life.
