Employee Spotlight ⭐️🔦
Name: Perry Lewis
Role: Maintenance Engineer III
Meet Perry Lewis, one of the dedicated team members who helps keep our hospital running smoothly every single day!
Perry starts his mornings bright and early at 6am, making rounds through the boiler room and equipment areas to ensure everything is ready for surgery before the day begins. From preventative maintenance to work orders, he plays a vital role behind the scenes to keep operations moving safely and efficiently.
💬 When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Perry said:
“I just like working in the building. I grew up here.”
Perry’s connection to SRMC goes back decades. His very first day was October 13, 1982, when he was just 23 years old. Before joining the hospital staff, he worked offshore in Louisiana, but when he heard about an opening at SRMC, he decided to come back home to Milton. In fact, his first role here was as the yard man cutting grass!
Outside of work, Perry is a proud family man - married for 43 years with one son, one daughter, and two granddaughters.
🍽️ Be on the lookout for Perry's meal in the Bistro: Sloppy joes with fries and mac & cheese. Perry keeps it simple: “I like kids food. I’m just not a fan of fancy food.”
