By charting your cycles, you can tell:
✨When or if ovulation happened
✨When you will get your period
✨When you are fertile and infertile
✨If you have any hormonal imbalances

The idea has been circulated that our cycles are mysterious, uncontrollable, and unpredictable. Thankfully, charting is not wizardry and our cycles are actually pretty easy to read. But fair warning, it may make you feel like a magician.

It's no secret that women's bodies change in perimenopause and post menopause, and what we use for fueling needs to change with our bodies. But that doesn't mean that you need to get rid of what you love. 🙅‍♀️
In perimenopause and after, women become more sensitive to carbohydrates and have more issues digesting them. Additionally, our insulin resistance to carbs outside of training increases. So does that mean the end of bread and pasta at dinner?
Not necessarily - although the emphasis does need to be on the QUALITY of your carbohydrate. Consider eating a fermented sourdough bread and swapping the traditional wheat pasta for a pulse pasta so that you have more protein versus carbohydrates. Try swapping your rice bowl with a base of quinoa or leafy greens. Add more fruits and veggies as your carbohydrate outside of training. Carbohydrate choices are essential - choose nutrient-dense, complex carbs.
Changing hormones require a change in diet to get the most out of your body. Changing hormones does not mean that you can't still enjoy how you fuel. 🍴
What's your favorite food swap that you've made? Are there any that you were surprised to love? Let me know!
