Who is organizing the Wisconsin Massage Championship? That would be Dr. Jeffrey Montoya, LMT, BCTMB
Dr. Jeffrey Montoya has a passion for wellbeing through bodywork. He is a Licensed and Board Certificated Massage Therapist and Massage Educator (both at the entry-level and continuing education). He has studied over 30 different massage modalities and forms of bodywork. He holds a Bachelor's degree from St. Norbert College, a Master's degree from Cardinal Stritch University, a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage from Madison College, and a Doctor of Health Professions Education Degree from Logan University.
Jeffrey is committed to advancing the profession of massage therapy through collaboration and volunteering. He has volunteered for the American Massage Therapy Association both for the Wisconsin Chapter and nationally. He was the Wisconsin Chapter President for two terms and was elected by the Chapter Presidents to serve as the Chapter Presidents' Council Moderator for 2023. He has also volunteered for the International Consortium of Manual Therapies and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Jeffrey's awards and recognition include AMTA-Wisconsin Chapter Meritorious Service Award and the AMTA Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year Award. In July of 2023, Jeffrey was inducted into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame.
Jeffrey is a leader in blended (online and in-person) massage education. He founded a nonprofit school, Academy of Health, to educate future massage therapists using the latest technology. Jeffrey also operates two massage businesses near Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he lives with his partner Matthew and dog Lucy.
