National AHEC Week is almost here!

National AHEC Week is almost here!

Every day across the country, Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) are working behind the scenes to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. Next week, we’ll shine a spotlight on that work during National AHEC Week.

Through health career pathway programs, clinical training experiences, and continuing education opportunities, AHECs help thousands of students explore healthcare careers while supporting practicing professionals as they strengthen their skills.

Together, these efforts help build a stronger healthcare workforce for communities nationwide.

Throughout the week, we’ll bring this impact to life through real stories and real faces, highlighting AHEC Scholars, alumni, innovative programs, and partnerships shaping the future of healthcare.

Milwaukee AHEC is sharing an opportunity from our AHEC partner, Northeastern Wisconsin Area Health Education Center (NEWAHEC).

NEWAHEC is hiring a full‑time AHEC Center Director to provide executive leadership, supervise AHEC staff, and oversee statewide programs including AHEC Scholars, Community Health Internship Program, and Community Health Immersion.

This role plays a critical part in advancing health education, workforce development, and community‑driven solutions.

📍 Based in Manitowoc, WI
