Nerves are what enable you to move through the world, as well as, process the world around you. The nervous system is the body’s processing center - transmitting motor & sensory signals between the brain & body.
Nerves allow us to move our bodies - to walk, dance, type at a computer, turn the page of a book, etc. These signals are unconscious as we move throughout our day. But when you experience nerve damage or pain like neuropathy, a pinched nerve or multiple sclerosis, these motor signals are more noticeable, either through pain, increased difficulty, or newfound inability. This increased motor difficulty can be the cause of stress or difficulty moving through daily tasks.
Our nervous system also helps us process the world around us through taste, smell, sight, sound & touch. Our bodies are continuously picking up cues on our surroundings - processing safety based on lived & generational experiences. In this way, stress can be a survival tool. However, when one is living in a prolonged state of stress or fear, it can lead to a dysregulated nervous system and other adverse ailments.
