Excited about another year with MAJICA ❤️🌍🔮
Majica Magazine proudly highlights our writers!!!
Starting with a very intellectual individual, Sarah...
Sarah Muehlbauer has been part of the Majica magazine since its inception. An award-winning artist and writer, whose journey through chronic illness and disability has not only shaped her unique perspective but also her remarkable contributions to the arts and journalism.
Sarah, a Milwaukee treasure, writes thought-provoking arts journalism for CODAmagazine and illuminates the world of dreams with her monthly features in Majica Magazine. Beyond her writing, she's known as Moonlight Woven, a gifted witch and professional reader at Altered State of Mind, where she intertwines tarot, oracle, and dream interpretation in her practice.
Her life took a pivotal turn at age 20 with a severe autoimmune disease diagnosis. This upheaval led her to yoga, a 20-year journey of embodiment and healing, which she now shares as a certified Yogaworks instructor and an advocate of cold water therapy.
Sarah's artistry dives into the depths of living with chronic illness. She brings to light the often-avoided topics of care, pain, and mortality, challenging cultural perceptions and revealing their intrinsic beauty and wisdom. Her work in fibers and material studies, complemented by her BFA in Painting and Drawing and MFA in Fibers and Material Studies, showcases her unique approach to these profound themes.
A lifelong learner, Sarah has studied under Tarot for the Wild Soul and This Jungian Life’s “Dream School,” enriching her practice in dreamwork and tarot. Her achievements include the VSA Arts National Emerging Artist Award and the Midwest Award for Artists with Disabilities, among other accolades. Not confined to one mode of expression. She has written and performed in original aerial spectacles, teaching the art of aerial rope at Warped Dance Studio.
Sarah Muehlbauer, a writer, artist, and aerialist who not only confronts but redefines the narrative of disability and chronic illness, bringing invaluable insights and beauty to the world around us.
We can’t thank you enough for all you do!
