Who we are:
SunSeeker MKE LLC is a link to transform and impact Queer & Trans Black and Brown people through muliti-issue based direct service and capacity building. The growth of planted seeds by black bodies in the out cry of crisis and joyless moments, a mandate to resistance, a response to the call of “What else is there?” We are made up of Black Trans abolitionists, organizers, healers, sibl

ings and hope, dedicated to liberation by any means necessary. Our mission: Sun-Seeker MKE Collective's mission is to build the communal base power and capacities of Black queer and trans people & youth in Milwaukee through multi-issue based direct service and capacity building within abolitionist praxis. Sun Seekers MKE LLC was birthed in 2021 out of the frustration, anger, tears, hopes and fears of Black Trans & Queer abolitionists in Milwaukee, in the wake of the Minnesota uprisings in 2020 and historical oppression of queer and Trans people & Black people across the diaspora. Our Liberation begins with collective power, political education, non-hierarchical Interdependence, & self determination. We will no longer sit and take the abuse and harm this city and systems have caused us. Through transformative and transparent community power building and collective learning we are committed to creating a world that sustains the futures, life, culture, joys, rights of Black & Brown Trans and queer people, and other minoritized bodies. We will strengthen our people by strengthening our connection with liberation and each other to transform ourselves, our communities, and our world.

For the love of two a.m. feedings…

Three more lambs have joined the first, including this lil’ nugget born right around midnight on the first/second. And goodness was it cold. Hovering right around freezing this little one’s first time mama was doing all the things I like to see happening after babes are born. Despite her motherly efforts, baby was not responding, hypothermia setting in.

In the house she came.

The night before bees arrived.

To know me is to know bottle babies drive me bananas for any number of reasons, including round the clock feedings every two-three hours the first couple weeks. But mostly because they have a harder time blending back into the herd, especially when they’re the only bottle babe, and they tend to have a harder time acknowledging they’re an animal meant to be with other animals. The attachment to their human becomes strong; the ability to contain them challenging.

Perhaps I’d be more amiable if I hadn’t gotten stung by one of our new lil’ lady arrivals looking for her colony in an empty nuc box Monday evening. Did I mention I’ve developed a life threatening allergy to honeybee stings?? That story can come another day but for now, as I’m ramped up on prednisone to bring swelling down…

Imma hold on to the fact our Littles, youth, Goat Crew, and young people are gonna have a blast helping raise her this season making it worth it. Any and all folks that don’t have to raise them full time, love a bottle babe. And not gon’ lie…
a bottle lamb > a bottle goat kid any day.
