A woman of many firsts in the Dominican Republic, Dr. Tamara Moore made history as the first woman to serve as President of Sodogastro - Sociedad Dominicana de Gastroenterología and the first female gastroenterologist honored as a “Master of Dominican Medicine.”

Fittingly, she now holds another distinction: the most nominations received for WGO’s series, with more than 20 in her name—a testament to her impact as a trailblazer for women in gastroenterology across the Dominican Republic.

Happy 20th Anniversary to the WGO Bangkok Training Center!

Over the past two decades, the Center, based at Siriraj Hospital—one of the largest medical facilities in the region—has trained hundreds of doctors and nurses from more than 10 Asia-Pacific countries in GI endoscopy. It has even had the honor of welcoming members of the Royal Family for a live endoscopy viewing.
