The Doula Village MKE in collaboration with Nourish MKE and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin will be recruiting community based doulas in Milwaukee county to participate in a no cost food security program that supports them AND their whole family!

The Milwaukee Birthing Access Fund is mutual aid in action—meeting the needs of our community where institutions have failed.

We offer direct support to individuals and families in Milwaukee who are:
• Pregnant or parenting
• Seeking doula or midwifery care
• Releasing a pregnancy
• Grieving loss

Our supporters offer one-time or monthly donations that help fund:
• Access to out-of-state reproductive care
• Doula support
• Homebirth Midwifery care
• Groceries and essential supplies
• Grief and death doula care
• Diapers, period products, and infant feeding needs

In a time of growing uncertainty, mutual aid helps our people exhale. It meets our needs by strengthening the care networks we all deserve—ones that hold us through the seasons of life with ease and in community.

Shoutout to Virginia Union University for becoming the first HBCU in Virginia to launch a doula training program! 🙌🏾 This is a major step in supporting Black women’s health, particularly in the birthing process. Doulas play a crucial role in providing emotional and physical support during childbirth, helping to reduce maternal health disparities and improving birth outcomes. 🤰🏾

This program will empower a new generation of doulas to assist Black women in their journey to motherhood with the support they deserve.
