Enhance your morning routine with a few minutes of acupressure + guided movement.

Upon waking, rub your hands together to generate warmth. Press into the crease where the chest meets the shoulder. Stroke downward to the inner following a path towards the thumb. Move down the forearm and squeeze the thumb pad area before turning the arm over stroking back up towards the shoulder, ending at the highest point of the middle of the joint. Repeat 9x per arm.

Next, sit with legs in front of you, knees bent. Each hand grabs the inside of each foot, with light pressure in the pit of the bottom of the foot (kidney 1). Inhale, extend the legs forward with pressure increasing at that Kidney 1 point. Get a nice stretch, imagining pure Qi breath entering the lungs and kidneys. As you exhale, bring knees back to bent position and imagine turbid stagnant energy leaving your body.

Autumn is dry and windy. This is a time of letting go and protecting the body from cold, stagnant energy. Activating a deep breath that engages the entire body will prevent joint stiffness and aches that come with cold weather. This stretch opens up the back of the legs to improve Qi and blood flow while improving circulation to the lower back, hips, and neck.

Eat warm seasonal foods. Keep your neck covered from wind.
Always have warm feet.

Each week will invite grounding, release, and reconnection as we align with the season's shift into quiet. Through guided meditation, breathwork, and restorative postures, you'll be supported in journeying inward and connecting with your inner light.

Autumn winds are stirring up cold air and damp leaves.
Exposure to extreme shifts in temperature can create different conditions for illness in our bodies. Some colds are tight and some are feverish while other feels heavy.

Wind Invasion is a concept in Classical Chinese medicine to describe the method in which pathogens enter and affect the body. Driving in the cold or damp from the environment tightens our pores and prevents circulation that aids our immune system in fighting illness.

Simple remedies can be used with great efficacy when we are treating the correct illness.

As the trees release their leaves, we’re reminded of the power in releasing what no longer serves us. The throat chakra (Vishuddha) is our center of voice, authenticity, and communication. This season invites us to soften, speak truthfully, and let go with grace.

✨Practices to explore:

Enhance your morning routine with a few minutes of acupressure + guided movement (dao yin).

Upon waking, rub your hands together to generate warmth. Apply pressure to the sides of your nostrils and then stroke from the eyebrows down to the nose on both sides. Stimulating the sinuses and promoting good circulation.

Now stroke downward on the throat with your palms to warm up the throat and release tension.

Finish by apply pressure to the inner shoulder joints and then circular rubbing each side of the chest.

Late Summer is a time when the body can experience more digestive disturbances and irritation from drying outdoor air. Stimulating the sinuses, chest, and acupressure points that improve digestion will provide support to the immune system as the weather changes.

Eat warm seasonal foods. Prioritize good digestion.
