Kamitic Legacy is the business-arm of Ausar Auset Society International (AASI). For 53 years, AASI’s provided a community wherein black diasporans live and reconnect with their ancestral spiritual culture. AASI was founded in 1973, in Harlem, NYC, by Ra Un Nefer Amen. It began as free weekly classes to local people of New York and New Jersey, eventually spreading to DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, and is now established in 40 cities across the US, UK, Africa, and the Caribbean.
The class content included Meditation techniques, Yoga science and practice, Qabala, Veganism, Homeopathy, Chinese medical theory & herbs, Tai Chi & Qi Gong, African & Chinese oracle systems, and matters of nationhood; family, marriage, education and economics.
The society operated K-12 schools in New York and DC with high graduation rates and near nonexistent rates of student violence, crime or substance abuse. The schools were the result of people gathering together around an interdependent fervor for knowledge of self and self determination.
At the heart of the communities, now as then, is the ancient spiritual knowledge that allows people to transcend the decay that we have inherited as brown people in a “post-colonial” world.
For over 3 decades, city folk could drop into one of several renown vegan storefronts, grab a gluten-rib dinner, walk into a free meditation class, purchase herbal baths, incense, oils, “nion-ting” (African tie-dyed cloth), and head home to re-stock their altar that they’d recently learned to maintain, as part of their journey to personal development. AASI has formed hundreds of urban families and guided thousands of individuals through life matters of every kind.
The teachings are proven and edified by thousands of testimonials. The collective experience of members has compounded a proprietary approach to Kamitic spirituality which is suitable and effective for modern people living urban lives. With this tenure and adaptation, Ra Un Nefer Amen’s essential teachings and spiritual insights have been rendered into on-demand video courses.
