Happy Tip Tuesday! Let's rock out and show those confined spaces who's boss! Here’s our first tip that can make a big difference for claustrophobic patients during MRIs: music! 🎧

For some people, the confined space of an MRI machine can trigger feelings of anxiety and discomfort. But here's where music swoops in as a superhero! 🦸‍♂️ Studies have shown that listening to music during MRI scans can significantly reduce anxiety levels and help patients feel more relaxed and at ease.

The power of music lies in its ability to transport us to another place, distracting our minds from the surroundings and calming our nerves. At MH Imaging, we offer headphones to ensure a comfortable MRI experience for all our patients.

Claustrophobia is the fear of enclosed spaces, like an elevator, or in our case, an MRI. Did you know that it's more common than you might think? Approximately 12.5% of people are claustrophobic.

That means millions of people worldwide grapple with the fear of confined spaces! 🙀

But here's some reassuring news for those in our community: at our Racine and Madison locations, we offer open MRIs, specifically designed to accommodate claustrophobic patients. These spacious machines provide a more comfortable experience, ensuring that everyone can receive the care they need without added stress. Additionally, our Milwaukee location has a wide bore unit that is roomier than your typical MRI. We have many claustrophobic patients that do very well with this machine. 😊

Despite its prevalence, there's still a stigma surrounding claustrophobia that prevents many from speaking out or seeking help. That's why we’re starting Tip Tuesday, where we’ll be sharing tips for managing claustrophobia to help our patients feel comfortable for their scans!

✨ Happy Tech Tuesday! ✨ We'll be using Tuesdays to shine a spotlight on the fabulous technicians that keep our office running. Now introducing Mary Beth, our lead technician:

"“Hi, I’m Mary Beth and I have been working as a Radiographer since 1983. That makes this my 41st year! I absolutely love what I do. I studied at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL. Before coming to Wisconsin, I worked at Highland Park Hospital, which is now part of the Northwestern Medical group. I was involved with several research programs in Multiple Sclerosis.

In the 1980’s I wanted to be a photographer but couldn’t afford the camera and the film. 📸That’s when I decided Radiography would give me an opportunity to photograph people’s insides. Slightly different, but a much more important outcome. I have worked with the MH Imaging family since 2008 and wake up every day happy to go to work.

It is truly a joy to be able to treat people as patients and not customers. I would recommend MH Imaging as a caring and friendly imaging center.
