Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin is the state's largest and most trusted reproductive health care provider.

Since opening in 1935 with one small clinic in Milwaukee run by a group of volunteers, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin (PPWI) has grown to be Wisconsin’s largest and most trusted reproductive health care provider. For 80 years, we've been providing the health care, education and advocacy people need to make informed, responsible decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. With the generous support of private donations and public grants, PPWI looks to a future where women have access to the reproductive health care they need, teenagers receive medically accurate and non-biased sexuality education, and legislators make responsible and compassionate decisions about women's rights and women's bodies. We provide affordable, quality, and confidential health care to 60,000 people each year in our 22 health centers across Wisconsin.

-Cancer Screenings (including Pap tests, breast, and testicular exams)
-STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) Education, Testing, and Treatment

-Reproductive and Sexual Health Care Education and Information
-Colposcopy (follow up care for abnormal pap tests)

We offer comprehensive, medically accurate, age-appropriate sexuality education to thousands of young adults, teens, parents and other adults of influence each year. PPWI educators work with community partners to encourage healthy decision-making and early detection and prevention to close racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes. Join us for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin’s 4th Annual Back to School Bash on Sunday, August 24, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Northwest Community Center, 5370 W Fond du Lac Ave, Milwaukee.

This free, family-friendly event is more than a giveaway, it is a celebration of care, connection, and community. Families can enjoy backpack and hygiene kit giveaways, free food, face painting, balloon art, carnival-style games, music from DJ TruStar, a mobile gaming trailer, raffle prizes, and even a laptop giveaway. On-site services include STI testing, hearing checks, and lead testing. You will also have the chance to connect with local partners like Lucid Hearing, Children’s Midtown Clinic, Fathers Making Progress, Black Pride MKE, Feeding America, and many more offering resources to support your family’s health and well-being.

This week, an amazing group of volunteers came together to pack over 300 backpacks for elementary, middle, and high school students. All of which was in preparation for our 4th Annual Back-to-School Bash!

G.E.T. Fresh! 2025: A Powerful Weekend of Community and Connection

We’re proud to share highlights from the G.E.T. Fresh! event held this past weekend in La Crosse. With over 300 attendees (an increase from last year) the event brought together families, community partners, and volunteers for a meaningful back-to-school experience.

A total of 151 backpacks were distributed to students from elementary through high school. When supplies ran out, families were connected to another local event offering school supplies to ensure no one was left out. Most attendees stayed to take part in a variety of engaging activities throughout the weekend.

Seventeen community organizations participated in our resource fair, sharing valuable information and support related to social determinants of health. Families who visited every table were able to complete a resource passport and enter a raffle featuring family-friendly prizes donated by local partners. Thanks to the generosity of the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, 300 bag lunches were handed out to attendees throughout the event. Haircuts and braiding services were available both days, with 22 professional braiders and stylists volunteering their time. A special thank you goes out to the La Crosse Public Library for their essential role in helping organize and host this event. Their partnership made a huge impact.

Thank you to everyone who contributed time, resources, and energy to make G.E.T. Fresh! 2025 a success. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of this vibrant community.

Together with our community, we helped families gear up for the new school year with free backpacks, school supplies, food, hygiene products, vision checks, and even fresh haircuts! All to support confidence, connection, and readiness.
