February is American Heart Month. Last year, DHHS partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) to put Blood Pressure Hubs in Milwaukee County Senior Centers, giving participants the ability to check their blood pressure numbers onsite and borrow a blood pressure cuff to utilize at home. High blood pressure is commonly known as the “silent killer,” because as many as 36% of patients with uncontrolled high blood pressure are not aware of their condition.
