When hearing fades, life gets quieter.

Our senses keep us connected to people, conversations, and moments that matter.

When hearing starts to decline, it doesn’t just affect sound - it can affect confidence, connection, and daily life.

We’ve all asked someone to repeat themselves once or twice. But imagine living that reality every single day.

For many people, that’s not imagination — it’s their experience.

Sabina Brennan is helping break the stigma around hearing aids and reminding us that hearing health is brain health.

Getting your hearing checked every year isn’t just about ears - it’s about staying connected to life.

Because when we can’t hear well, we often begin to withdraw. And isolation can impact both mental and physical health.

If you or someone you love has noticed changes in hearing, don’t wait. Early support makes a difference.

Your connection to the world is worth protecting.

Dementia isn’t only a condition of older adults.

Emma highlights an important reality: There are over 120 types of dementia, and some forms appear well before age 60.

One example is Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD)-the most common type in younger individuals-which can influence behavior, language, and movement.

91-Year-Old Regains Voice to Sing for Wife With Dementia on 66th Anniversary.

A 91-year-old man battling vocal cord atrophy regained his voice and was able to sing for his wife, who has dementia.

Thanks to help from Memorial Hospital Houston. Jerome, an Army veteran and a 19-year member of the Houston Symphony Chorus, sings the same song for his wife each year: The Wind Beneath My Wings.

Jerome was diagnosed with vocal cord atrophy - “a condition where the vocal cords shrink and fail to touch” - two years ago, and sought therapy at Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) Memorial Hermann in Houston, “where therapists designed a rehabilitation plan focused on vocal exercises and breathing technique.”

Footage shows Jerome singing to his wife, Agnes, on their 66th anniversary.

The hospital said, “Not only is [Jerome] back to singing in the mornings from his balcony but he is singing to his wife again, too.

This is particularly poignant because Mother Nature has begun to steal some of her memory and cognition. Music is how they still connect.”

Caregiving is deeper than memory alone.

There are days in dementia care when recognition fades, and names slip away.

But the feelings we create still stay.

A caregiver, healthcare worker, or nurse can bring comfort through tone, presence, and the gentle way they show up daily.

Your work makes life calmer and brighter for someone who may not recall your name, but still feels your kindness every time.
