I know your intentions are to uplift and motivate, but telling someone “you got this” when they say they’re not ok and struggling can feel dismissive. Some helpful responses can be, “tell me how what’s going on”, “what do you need?”, “is there something I can do to help”?… We can’t always change a situation, but we can validate and support.
