"Outfoxing Hunger" brings the magic of the Wisconsin Woodlands exhibit to life for CANstruction 2026! Through the clever charm of a fox and her kits, our design symbolizes resilience, intelligence, and our community’s determination to find creative solutions to hunger.

In partnership with our friends at The Boldt Company, we raised funds to purchase 3,097 cans; all of which will be donated locally after the exhibit closes. Standing at just over 10 feet tall, this is our most ambitious build yet.

Puzzle play is the process of arranging spatial elements to explore and optimize design solutions. 🧩

This semester, our interior design studio has the privilege of facilitating a healthcare interiors class for students from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and Concordia University Wisconsin.

Last class, our healthcare studio led a hands-on puzzle play activity, giving students the chance to experiment with programmatic elements before finalizing their layouts. The students embraced the challenge, pushing boundaries and uncovering fresh ideas, proving that creativity is a powerful force in solving complex healthcare challenges with human-centered solutions.

Having the opportunity to share our experience and passion for healthcare interior design, and to help equip the next generation of designers with essential planning tools, is truly rewarding.

This holiday season, we gathered to celebrate the driving force behind our firm: our exceptional team.

In true Zimmerman fashion, we added a creative twist to the festivities with a design challenge! Teams decorated seven Christmas trees, each inspired by a different color, turning the event into a vibrant display of imagination and collaboration.

This Thanksgiving, we reflect on the strength of community and the importance of giving back.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of The Turkey Club and Hunger Task Force, Inc., we delivered 32 turkeys to Sojourner Family Peace Center. The Turkey Club, a volunteer-led group, delivered 2,152 turkeys to 48 local organizations this year, ensuring families across our community enjoy a holiday meal. Pretty incredible.

Supporting our community goes beyond the holiday season. We’re grateful for partnerships with organizations like The Women's Center, Hunger Task Force Farm, and Feeding America, working together to make a meaningful difference year-round.

The "Topping Off" Ceremony for The Hampton stands as a testament to the transformative impact local vision, community leadership, and Milwaukee County partnership can achieve when united around a common purpose: ensuring all residents have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Construction is officially underway for the 17-unit apartment building, which marks the first-ever affordable housing development in Whitefish Bay, a village recognized for its strong neighborhoods and excellent schools.

Our design philosophy proves that affordability and quality can go hand-in-hand. The residences are designed for comfort and durability, featuring modern finishes and an abundance of natural light to create welcoming living environments.

We are proud to provide architectural support for this initiative led by Brian Spoerl of Spoerl Commercial, and we are inspired by his work to replicate this successful model, recognizing that housing stability is fundamental to health, opportunity, and dignity.

The grand opening of the Tom and Mary Schultz Family YMCA in Watertown was a celebration of community, connection, and growth. The Annual Campaign Auction and Dinner and the Community Showcase brought people together to honor this exciting milestone and was a true reflection of the YMCA’s mission in action.

This expansion is more than increased square footage, it’s a commitment to creating spaces where people of all ages can connect, grow, and thrive. From a gymnasium with a track to wellness areas and community spaces, the new YMCA is ready to meet the needs of today and tomorrow.

The groundbreaking of Moraine Park Technical College's Human and Health Services wing enhancement marks an exciting milestone for healthcare education on MPTC's campus. The renovations and addition will modernize classrooms, labs, and simulation spaces to mirror real-world environments found in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and emergency services.

Our Education and Healthcare Studios, alongside Harwood Engineering, collaborated to create immersive environments that reflect industry best practices, equipping students with the skills and confidence to excel in real-world healthcare settings.

We’re thrilled to see this project take shape and look forward to the impact it will have on students and campus community.

This latest expansion is designed to enhance every step of the patient journey: from a new entry and reception area, comfortable lounges, amenities including a boutique and massage therapy, and an expanded infusion therapy treatment center.

This investment reflects SSM Health’s dedication to meeting the evolving needs of the community. By bringing more vital services under one roof, the expanded center will broaden access to advanced cancer care and innovative treatments, ensuring compassionate, high-quality care remains close to home.

On a beautiful fall day, Ebenezer Child Care Centers in Bay View celebrated the Grand Opening of their 8th location. 🍂

It was a pleasure to collaborate with this longstanding partner, designing and building out the lower level, first, and second floors with purpose and imagination. Abundant natural light, welcoming interiors, and spaces tailored for infants to school-aged children set the stage for exploration, creativity, and individual development.

Located in Bay View - a neighborhood known for its energy, diversity, and community spirit - this new center reflects Ebenezer’s inspiring mission to provide safe, nurturing, and inclusive environments. As the agency continues to grow, it fills the increasing need for quality child care in communities across Southeast Wisconsin.
