Join us for a backyard, sunset soundbath welcoming fall, where the golden glow of the setting sun meets the soothing embrace of sound. As autumn arrives, we gather outdoors to ground ourselves in the steady rhythm of nature - roots deep in the earth, hearts open to the crisp air and shifting season.

The gentle breeze through the leaves, the golden, fading light, and the transformative vibrations of the instruments invite you into stillness and renewal. Together, we welcome fall's offerings - release, balance, and the beauty of change.

Effective September 1, 2025, Providence Health Plan is implementing changes that may affect coverage for certain alternative care services, including naturopathy, acupuncture, and massage therapy.

Important Update for Providence Members

You may have already been informed by your plan that Providence Insurance plans are making a significant transition with their alternative care benefits this fall. This includes Naturopathy, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, and Massage. This change will impact how our clinic and providers are able to work with Providence members.

As of 9/1/25, alternative care benefits for Providence members will now be managed by American Specialty Health (often called ASH). There will be new requirements for prior authorization and medical necessity that will impact which services the plan deems medically necessary and which services it will choose to not cover.

As of 9/1/25, American Specialty Health will be requiring providers to submit medical necessity reviews for all of your care. This process is time consuming, disorganized, and presents obstacles for the providers trying to provide care. At the same time, reimbursement for these services are being cut dramatically by 50-70% from what providers currently receive. Many providers will choose not to stay in-network with Providence because of this change.

How will this affect future visits at Elk Rock Wellness?
Starting September 1st we will need to re-verify your plan and its coverage and requirements through American Specialty Health. We have been told by ASH to expect delays in benefit information being uploaded and transferred to their system. Visits with your provider will be delayed by this process while we wait to be informed of the requirements for medical necessity in order to see our patients.

Some services you are used to receiving at Elk Rock Wellness may no longer be covered. With the information we have now it is likely that massage therapy and acupuncture may no longer be a covered service under Providence plans.

There may be other updates and changes as things progress. We value each of you and we will do our best to support you through this process. Please consider booking with your provider in July and August so that they can work with you on this transition before it takes effect.

Celebrating 9 YEARS with this vibrant human who brings us joy & constant laughter! Breanna is the 1st mermaid I’ve ever met in real life, she IS the friend who is delightfully unpredictable and heartwarmingly approachable.

In her own words, she is “relationship-focused, holistically centered, health driven wellness fanatic with a passion for healing the human body and empowering the spirit inside”.

Breanna is eternally playful, intuitive, spirited & an amazing teammate. She also recently celebrated a birthday so share some love with Breanna if you see her this week!

When she is not providing bodywork or digging her nose into bodywork textbooks, you can find her with her cats in the garden, hiking throughout the beautiful PNW landscape, or dancing and inviting her inner child to let loose wherever there’s music to be found.

Happy Elk Rock Anniversary, Breanna! Thank you for nine amazing years of friendship, silliness, late night dancing, interning, axe throwing, skydiving, costume parties, hula hooping, girl’s nights, gardening, and all the unforgettable adventures in between!
