Gary spent his life in the sky. ✈️ He served 21 years in the United States Air Force as a flight mechanic, retiring as a Master Sergeant and working on aircraft like the SR-71A and F4D — now displayed at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. He later spent 16 years at Evergreen, maintaining aircraft and sharing his expertise.
“I put a lot of my life in there,” Gary said. He hadn’t visited in over a decade...until now. ✨
With support from the Marquis Newberg care team, Gary returned with his wife, Linda, and their children, sharing stories of life on base as his family reminisced alongside him. At the SR-71, his favorite aircraft, Gary spoke with a volunteer who shared his same passion.
The visit wasn’t just about the aircraft; it was about reconnecting Gary with his past and sharing it with those he loves. Surrounded by family and familiar planes, he felt at home.🧡
