OOPA members gathered at the Capitol in Salem to meet with legislators. It was an opportunity for our doctors to meet or reestablish their relationships with their legislators and open a meaningful dialogue.

The following day, our Third Party Practice Management Seminar delivered education for doctors and staff, plus we proudly honored Emily Morris of Bandon Vision Center as our 2026 Paraoptometric of the Year!

The Oregon Optometric Physicians Association proudly recognized Paraoptometric of the Year Emily Morris at its annual Third Party/Practice Management Conference on February 20 at the Salem Convention Center in Salem, Oregon.

Emily Morris, who is the office manager of Bandon Vision Center, was nominated by her employer, Dr. Nicole Rush, O.D., who stated that Emily’s dedication to learn as much as possible about every aspect of the business of optometry and how to better serve patients, has made her a most deserving candidate for this honor. Her continuous can-do attitude and performance is exemplary.

Ms. Morris is CPO certified, has taken a leadership role in the Paraoptometric Association of OOPA, and has become the Vision Source representative for all of western Oregon.

The members of the association congratulate her on this outstanding achievement.
