Susan Buhler LAc - An Sheng Acupuncture & Healing Arts

Susan Buhler LAc - An Sheng Acupuncture & Healing Arts I practice Japanese acupuncture with an emphasis on the Kiiko Matsumoto style because it is very gentle, yet profound.

The treatments I offer are always individualized to meet your current needs and results are experienced in real-time. I practice Japanese style acupuncture with an emphasis on Kiiko Matsumoto Style (KMS) that is very gentle, yet profound. Conventional medicine and pharmaceuticals have their place, but sometimes the body just needs some gentle guidance in order to heal and self-correct. KMS acupunc

Ah, the arrival of Spring. Warmer weather, nice breezes, and plenty of pollen to go around – causing bothersome and even debilitating symptoms, such as itchy red eyes, sneezing, cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, headache, fatigue and scratchy throat.

But as the beginning of this year’s allergy season coincides with yet another increase in coronavirus infections, it's important to know what your symptoms really mean. Read on for answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about allergies, the coronavirus and vaccines.

Please keep in mind that as research into the virus and vaccines continues, guidance may change.

As Oregon in general begins to re-open, we may have mixed feelings about the process. I've put a lot of thought and effort into maintaining a safe environment for everyone, and have outlined the new protocols and procedures for my clinic on my website.

Please read and feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

What does beauty mean to you? For me, beauty is everything that brings hope and inspiration to humanity. It's interwoven with our human experience – if we pay attention.

From nature to kindness to laughter, beauty matters for our well-being. Read more on my new blog.

Recently my husband and I did a fantastic hike on the west side of Mount Hood. The views were stunning, wild flowers filled the open meadows, ravens soared above on the thermals. We couldn’t help but take frequent stops to appreciate and breathe in the beauty that was all around us (okay okay, may...

The translation of ‘An Sheng’ from two Chinese characters is: balance, peace and harmony.

You may never have thought of acupuncture in those terms before, but that's my job – to find out what the imbalances are, what systems are involved, and then to guide the body, through acupuncture, to help the body restore itself to balance.

When there is balance, there is harmony, and therefore physical and mental peace as well. Read more on my blog, and get in touch to see if acupuncture is right for you.

"In the United States, the official dietary guidelines do not explicitly call for a reduction in meat consumption. The amount of meat, poultry and eggs that the guidelines recommend, however, is generally lower than what Americans — at least adult men — currently consume. The guidelines call for an even bigger reduction in sugar consumption. All of this would mean less pollution, and more land available for nature."

IMPORTANT. You can't just rely on recycling, and it's more important now than ever to stop buying goods packaged in plastic. This is an environmental issue that can easily spiral out of control in a very short time.

Doctors at Kaiser Permanente in Southern California have developed a highly successful program for helping patients safely decrease their reliance on opioid pain medications utilizing acupuncture and other so-called alternative modalities. Acupuncture works!

The statistics of the opioid epidemic in this country are staggering. People affected by opioid addiction have increased by 500% in the last 15 years, with a conservative average of 91 Americans dying from overdose every day.

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/one-group-doctors-drastically-decreased-opioid-prescriptions/

With addictions and overdoses surging over the past two decades, recent CDC guidelines urge doctors to avoid or dramatically limit the use of legal painkillers. In Southern California, a group of Kaiser Permanente doctors has been helping chronic pain patients "step down" from high-dose opioids with...

Yes there is a food waste problem in this country – for many many years! This organization, Imperfect, is doing a great service by taking produce that otherwise would be wasted due to cosmetics and offering it up for nutritious consumption. Looks aren't everything!

Imperfect Produce is a customizable, membership-based food organization for buying otherwise wasted produce that can bring nutritional goodness to your family's table at an affordable cost, and support a very worthy cause. Food is precious and should not be wasted, especially due to 'looks'.

Feedback that I have heard is that the produce is wonderful and tasty.

Ugly or not! Food matters!

Healthcare coverage and continuity of care are huge and personal issues for many people, especially those that must buy or find insurance through the government marketplace.

The Trump administration in its efforts to collapse has greatly reduced information (huge reduction in informational ads to assist and inform people), as well as the time frame to sign up for healthcare for 2018 (45 days less to enroll!).

I am posting this article with the hope that this helps people find and enroll without a disruption in coverage. Please read on for more information so that you can protect your healthcare coverage.

Be well!

The department has already planned to shorten open enrollment season by 45 days -- running from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15, 2017 for 2018 coverage.
