This was a fantastic day at the OHCA conference in Salem, Oregon! We loved meeting so many fellow healthcare heroes from long-term care, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing communities.

When we changed our name to Caring Hearts Hospice, it was a reflection of the deep support we want to bring to the families we serve across Oregon. This week, we got to see firsthand how all of Oregon's healthcare hearts can beat together.

By building these strong connections, we create a wider "village" of support for patients and family caregivers. Together, we can lighten the burden for those navigating life's final transition.

For World Health Day, we are celebrating holistic health. 💙

When facing a serious illness, physical symptoms are only one part of the journey. Emotional anxiety, spiritual questions, and family stress all impact how a person actually feels physically.

That is why the Caring Hearts team doesn't just treat a diagnosis. We treat the whole person. Our Oregon-based nurses and aides manage the body, our social workers support the mind and the family, and our chaplains provide peace for the spirit. This Easter weekend, we are thinking about the incredible legacies of the patients we have the privilege to serve. We hear about Easters past—the Sunday dresses, the egg hunts in the Oregon rain, the family recipes passed down through generations.

As we step into National Volunteer Month this April, this quote feels more relevant than ever. When families look back on their time with Caring Hearts Hospice, they may not remember the exact medications we administered or the exact schedule we kept.

But they will remember the relief of a nurse arriving in the middle of the night. They will remember the joy a volunteer brought by playing a favorite song. They will remember feeling safe, supported, and deeply loved.

Sometimes, a caring heart looks like a warm washcloth and a fresh set of sheets. ✨

Our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and aides perform some of the most intimate, vital work in hospice care. By helping patients with bathing, dressing, nail care, feeling comfortable, and personal hygiene, they do more than just keep people clean—they fiercely protect their dignity.

It takes a very special, gentle heart to provide this kind of vulnerable care. We are so incredibly grateful for the aides at Caring Hearts Hospice who make our patients feel fresh, respected, and deeply cared for.

This is the number one phrase we hear from families at Caring Hearts Hospice.

Often, people wait to call us until a crisis hits or the very final days of life. But hospice is designed to provide months of comfort, pain management, and emotional support.

Spring is the season of clearing out the clutter and letting the light in. ✨

When a family calls Caring Hearts Hospice, we do a different kind of "spring cleaning" for them. Our medical team clears away the burden of unmanaged pain. Our social workers help clear away the overwhelming maze of medical paperwork and insurance stress. We organize the medical equipment, the medications, and the daily care plan.

We clear the way so you can stop being a full-time nurse, and go back to simply being a family. If you need help clearing the overwhelm this season, we are a phone call away.
