🚨 Burnout doesn’t happen overnight.
It builds. Slowly. Quietly.
Often without you realizing it.
This graphic lays out the 12 stages of burnout—and if you look closely, most people don’t recognize it until they’re already deep into it.
🧠In this line of work, it can look like:
👉 Pushing harder to prove yourself
👉 Skipping meals, losing sleep
👉 Telling yourself “I’m fine” when you’re not
👉 Pulling away from people
👉 Feeling disconnected, numb, or just… done
And by the time it reaches the later stages—
👉 exhaustion
👉 hopelessness
👉 complete shutdown
…it’s not just stress anymore.
💡 Here’s what matters:
Burnout is not a personal failure.
It’s a signal.
A signal that:
• the demands have been too high for too long
• recovery hasn’t been enough
• something needs to change
🛡️ The earlier you recognize it, the more you can do about it:
✔️ Pay attention to small changes in yourself
✔️ Don’t ignore the early signs
✔️ Talk to someone you trust
✔️ Take breaks before your body forces one
👉 You don’t have to wait until stage 12 to take this seriously.
If any part of this feels familiar—
that’s your sign to check in with yourself.
