Adding consistent stretching to your wellness routine goes beyond  warming up before a workout.  You know what I'm talking about:  Pull your arms across your chest.  Pull your heels to your butt, shake it out a little and then we're all stretched out and ready to go, right?

Perhaps we can do better. We all probably know we need to stretch more. Stretching is simply a means to improve your overall wellness, and a way to move better and feel better.  The goal is not just flexibility but PLIABILITY. We want to improve your range of motion comfortably, fluidly, without pain or tension. Stretching and mobility helps increase circulation, improves posture while reducing soreness. Combined with hydration, stretching and mobility work help us to not only move better, but really feel well!

Our in house Massage Therapist and Stretch Specialist, Lenore, is hosting guided stretching classes! In these classes, Lenore will take us through a full body stretch routine that will help increase our muscular range of motion, to gain that pliability and circulation that we can thrive on!

Lenore also offers one on one Assisted Stretching where you can receive all the benefits of stretching, but Lenore does all the work.  Ask her for details!

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT!!!! Felicia is a newer member to the Three Danes Family, but an integral one nonetheless! She is constantly working hard, putting in extra hours to really improve everything about herself. You may see her working hard training during classes, but she also works just as hard on her mobility and recovery. She definitely is “walking the talk” not only as an athlete, but also as a TDW Coach! She is easy to smile and laugh as she leads her classes - helping all our members raise their bar and move well.
She brings so much to our gym and to our athletes in addition to attending college and working another job. Felicia you are a phenomenal example of what it means to work hard. We are thankful to have you in our TD Family and you hands down deserve this member spotlight!

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT!!!
This week’s member spotlight goes to Donna!! Donna comes to us courtesy of winning a tricky tray with a long history and love of Zumba. She brings great energy to her workouts and can often be found busting a move when the music is just right! Donna is a good role model for all of us because she always tries her best… even if it’s doing burpees! More than that, Donna is a huge part of the TDW family supporting her fellow Three Danes athletes not only during every class, but also attending the local competitions to cheer us on! It was a good day to get low! In honor of “deload week”, our athletes’ aims were to focus on form and really pay attention to all the points of performance that makes up a great front squat in order to gear up for retesting their one rep max’s next week. Today we used tempo squats to build comfort in staying low and controlled at the bottom of our squats. Great, great job today TD Fam!

She is the Most Brilliant, Most Beautiful Mama Bear who lifts heavy and gives everything she’s got for every workout. Hey! Are you an avid CrossFitter?! A CrossFit coach?! Maybe you’re both! Are you looking to challenge yourself…push yourself both physically and mentally? YES! Three Danes loves to challenge athletes and coaches that love to challenge themselves!!
We are having a REST DAY Competition!! This is meant to challenge your mind and body to unwind from the grind! We are looking for you to actively, MINDFULLY rest and HYDRATE!! Please understand that these are For Quality workouts….meaning that it is not HOW MANY of these options you accomplish, but HOW YOU FEEL while accomplishing them-your mindset, your perspective…how each of these options helps you grow both physically and mentally.

Each of the above options are worth 10 points. See not just how many points you can score based on this list, but how your body and mind feel while completing these fun, relaxing options! Think about how you can give yourself ways to slow down and recharge without having to give up moving and a ENJOY a full on wellness perspective.

We would love to see and share your progress. Let us know how your rest day(s) are/was via post or stories. We are supporting you and cheering you on in every way! Your wellness is in turn our wellness! When our minds and bodies can work together, we can all become better!

Our fitness and nutrition programs cater to just that, your goals for your lifestyle-what you need to achieve! Let’s give a huge shoutout to Mike, who’s lost 14.9lbs of fat in just 4 weeks! Prior to coming to Three Danes, Mike had not been in a gym nor lifted weights. Now, not only is Mike getting healthier, he’s now lifting weights AND excelling in his sit-ups! GREAT JOB MIKE!!!

"Freedom is never given; it is won."

This Independence Day, we remembered Army Spc. Hilda Clayton 🇺🇲.

Army Spc. Hilda Clayton, 22, of Augusta, Georgia, died from injuries sustained when a mortar malfunctioned during an Afghan National Army training exercise in Qaraghahi, Afghanistan. Clayton, assigned to the 55th Signal Company and the 21st Signal Brigade in Fort Meade, Maryland, was providing Combat Camera support at the time of her death.

She is survived by her husband, Chase Clayton.

"Roger that, thank you." - Lt. Michael P. Murphy (5/7/76 - 6/28/05)

is not simply another workout we do in class to increase our fitness. It is a workout designed to honor and remember the men and women of the armed forces that have lost their lives in defense of our freedom. And as is the case with every Hero workout, it has a story of courage and sacrifice.

Today, everyone dug a little deeper, pushed a little harder and we were honored to do so. 🇺🇲
