🐾 What To Do If Your Pet Gets Bitten By a Snake 🐍

Snake bites can be scary—but staying calm and acting quickly can make all the difference. Here’s what to do:

👉 1. Stay calm & keep your pet calm.
Movement spreads venom faster. Carry them if you can.

👉 2. Call us or the nearest emergency animal hospital immediately.
Tell them the situation so they can prepare antivenom if needed.

👉 3. Keep the bite area below heart level.
This helps slow venom circulation.

👉 4. Do NOT try to suck out venom, apply ice, or use a tourniquet.
These can make the injury worse.

👉 5. If safe, note the snake’s color/size—don’t try to catch it.
A photo taken from a distance can help identify the snake, but your safety comes first.

👉 6. Get to a vet ASAP.
Even non‑venomous bites need medical care to prevent infection.

❤️ Our pets depend on us in emergencies. Quick action can save their life!

🌷🐾 Spring Has Sprung — Here’s What to Watch Out for With Your Pets! 🐾🌷

Warmer weather means more outdoor fun, but it also brings a few seasonal hazards for our furry family members. Keep your pets safe this spring with these quick tips:

🌼 Allergies Are Real (Even for Pets!)
Itchy skin, watery eyes, sneezing — sound familiar? Pets feel it too! If you notice extra scratching or licking, it may be time for a vet check.
🪻 Toxic Plants Blooming
Beautiful…but dangerous. Lilies, tulips, azaleas, and sago palms can be toxic to pets if ingested. Keep curious noses away from landscaping and bouquets.
🦟 Fleas, Ticks & Mosquitos Are Back
As temps rise, these pests wake up. Make sure your pet is up-to-date on preventatives — it’s the easiest way to avoid itchy bites and serious illnesses.
🚗 Spring Cleaning Chemicals
Household cleaners, fertilizers, and pesticides can all be harmful. Store them safely and keep pets away while using them.
💧 Standing Water = Bacteria
After spring rain, puddles and ponds can carry harmful bacteria or parasites. Encourage your pet to drink fresh water only.
🌳 More Wildlife Activity
Raccoons, snakes, and other wildlife are out and about. Supervise yard time and keep pets leashed on walks.

Spring is a great time to get outside — just a few precautions help keep your furry companions happy, healthy, and ready to enjoy the sunshine! ☀️🐶🐱

🐾 Why Spaying & Neutering Matters — For Them and For Us 🐾
Every year, millions of dogs and cats end up in shelters, and far too many never find a forever home. One of the most impactful ways we can help is simple: spay or neuter your pets.

✨ It promotes a longer, healthier life.
Fixed pets are less likely to develop certain cancers and infections.
✨ It improves behavior.
Less roaming, reduced marking, and fewer hormone-driven habits mean a calmer, happier companion.
✨ It helps reduce overpopulation.
Fewer litters means fewer homeless animals—and more resources for those who truly need them.
✨ It’s a responsible choice.

Owning a pet means giving them the safest, healthiest life possible—and this is a huge part of that.

Let’s do our part to protect the pets we love 💙🐶🐱

Call us today to schedule.

❄️🐾 Snowy days can be magical—just make sure they’re safe for your pets!
Winter weather doesn’t have to mean staying cooped up indoors. With a few simple precautions, your furry friends can stay active and protected:
🐕 Short, frequent walks — Limit time outside but keep them moving to burn energy.
🧥 Bundle up — Small, senior, or short‑haired pets may need a warm coat or sweater.
🐾 Protect their paws — Use pet-safe booties or apply paw balm to prevent ice, salt, and chemicals from causing irritation.
💧 Hydrate — Pets can get dehydrated in cold weather too!
🏡 Create indoor fun — Try treat puzzles, indoor fetch, or obstacle courses to keep them stimulated when it’s too cold to stay out long.
