UPDATE TO AETHER’S CANCELLATION POLICY

Effective immediately, here’s the scoop:

Any cancellation or reschedule (including shortening your session time) needs to be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of your appointment. Those made 24-6 hours before the start will be subject to a $50/scheduled service hour cancellation fee. Those made within six hour of your scheduled start time (and no shows) will be charged in full (less sales tax).

This reflects Aether’s return to being a solo-practice. The why behind this shift:
- I no longer need to guarantee that my team is compensated for setting their time aside for you (the old policy of 24 hours or charged in full was to accommodate this)
- There is often something else I can do with my time if you cancel last-minute, but I don’t earn income from those (necessary) tasks.
- In some cases I may be able to find someone to take your spot, but it’s rare on short notice.
- If you have something that comes up and you know the night before your appointment, you’re not out $200. However, I am still partially compensated for reserving that time for you.
- If you cancel within six hours, I have already planned my entire day, potentially left for work or am working, organized pet care, and may not even see your message if I am already in session with clients.

I’m pleased to create a smidge more flexibility that is supported by my official policy. If you have specific questions, drop them or DM me and I will update to clarify as needed.

I’ve been dreaming of a proper camping retreat for YEARS, and I am so excited to officially open registration.

- a true camping experience! You won’t have access to your car, we leave it behind and take a boat miles into the park to set up home base there for the long weekend
- no electricity and no running water (we treat lake water for drinking/cooking and there is a covered vault toilet at our campsite)
- rain or shine, embracing what Mother Earth has to offer us 🫶🏻

Most importantly, thank you. We could not have done this without all of you 🫶🏻 Our clients are our lifeblood. And also 👇🏻

When I say that owning a business is hard, it’s an understatement. When I say that it’s the first thing I think about in the morning, last thing before bed, and wakes me up in the night, it’s an understatement. When I say that I have a thousand things in my head all at once, it’s an u n d e r s t a t e m e n t .

During a summer where so much has been happening — team expansions, space expansion, business development, launching new programming, and learning from *dozens* of mistakes — all during our slowest season of the year… this recognition came at a beautiful time.

Owning Aether is a dream come true. The gratification we get immediately when we see transformation in our clients on the table is what keeps each of us in love with our work. We are so lucky that we get to share so much with so many.

Our line of work is one that truly is fulfilling, and all of that is thanks to the hundreds (almost thousands!) of people that trust us with their healing. Thank you 🫶🏻

For the founder, though, this work is so much more than those beautiful relationships with our clients. It’s a sometimes seemingly insurmountable heap of admin work. It’s hard.

And now, I am reminded that all of the hard parts—spreadsheets, failed marketing campaigns, equipment issues, hundreds of spam calls (that I have to answer just as joyfully as any phone call to a business)—they are worth it.

They have always been worth it, but sometimes it’s easy to forget that, ya know? After eight hours of excel interrupted with four robocalls and several months with more investment than revenue… it’s really, really nice to have recognition like this.

So to each of you who have written a review, shared a rating, and referred us to your people, THANK YOU.
