It’s that wonderful time of year again! Ebenezer's Annual Wreath Contest is here, and we can’t wait to see the creativity and festive spirit from our incredible communities! Gather your wreath-making supplies and make sure to order your wreath by September 27th. Photos of the finished creations need to be submitted by October 25th and we’ll reveal the top three winners on November 1st. Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s brighten this season together! 🌿✨

ARTISTS: Artwork can be submitted to your site leader or activities director. They will take a high resolution photograph, and return the art to you.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom and the name is a combination of “June” and “Nineteenth.” The Emancipation Proclamation was made effective in 1863, however, it could not be implemented in places still under Confederate control. Freedom finally came more than two years later. On June 19, 1865, 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, and more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth."
