This is a poem by the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Han from his book No Death, No Fear. It has come to mean a lot to me over the last week as I sat my latest silent seven- day meditation retreat.
It is a beautiful reminder to join life where it happens, in the here and in the now. This home is solid, still and peaceful while somehow also free and gleaming with possibility. Our connection with our own “ultimate” brings a passion and a fire to our practice and to our life.
To know these things first-hand is to be ALIVE each day, minute, and moment.
I have made it a practice to repeat this poem to myself every time I feel disconnected to the present moment and each time, it brings me home.
If you feel drawn to this poem, perhaps you will find value in reading this entire book. I would be delighted to discuss it with you.
