Modifying 🩶 Modifying a pose doesn’t mean you’re making it easier — it means you’re making it smarter for your body in that moment.

It’s a common misconception that modifications are just for beginners or for those who “can’t do” the full pose. But in reality, modifying is about adapting a shape to suit your needs — your anatomy, your energy, your injuries, your experience, even your mood.

In the first image, I’m working with the same foundational shape as the second, but with more support and a different relationship to gravity. Not because it’s easier — because it’s what I needed to prepare safely and intentionally.

Sometimes the modified version actually requires more precision or awareness. And often, it’s the more advanced choice because it comes from a place of deep listening.

The goal isn’t to force yourself into a shape. The goal is to use the pose as a tool to connect — to breath, to body, to presence.

Modify when you need to. Modify when you don’t need to. That’s the beauty of a responsive practice.
