Myth: “I don’t need therapy, I have my friends.”

Your friends can cheer you on, listen, and hold space with love. What they can’t always do is provide trained tools, perspective, and a safe container that’s fully focused on you.

Therapy can never replace friendship, but it can add another layer of support so you and your friendships can thrive.

✨World Mental Health Day is important✨
But the real question is: what about the other 364 days when people still struggle to get support, when crisis is still met with a response that’s not appropriate, when saying “I’m fine” feels safer than asking for help?

We’re pushing for a different reality:
🌱Therapy that’s affordable and culturally affirming
🌱Unarmed Crisis response that sends trained, unarmed mental health teams when you call for help
🌱Policy that treats mental health as essential infrastructure instead of an afterthought

Awareness days matter, but they aren’t enough. We need investment, systems change, and everyday accessibility to support.

✨Therapy isn’t only for high stress life moments. It’s also a space for growth, clarity, and everyday steadiness. At Canopy Mental Health & Consulting, we believe support shouldn’t wait until things feel overwhelming.

Sometimes therapy looks like learning new tools, making sense of patterns, setting boundaries, or simply having a steady place to check in with yourself. Think of it as maintenance for your mind, your relationships, and your joy.

If you’ve been curious about therapy consider this your sign to start the conversation.
