Hey there busy bee. This is a bee, on a sedum plant. I have been quiet here, as it’s been a challenge to know what to say, and how to respond to folks reactions. So- I’m taking my cue from this friend these days. Smell the flowers, prepare for winter, rest a bit. 🐝 👉🏻This post is my way of letting you all here on IG know I’m not attending this year.
Those in the world of typical jobs might call this a family medical leave. For someone like me, who runs a business, is self-employed and makes a living in the arts there’s no good phrase- it’s just a pause. I have decided to focus my energies on keeping myself healthy and strong to be the best support I can be for the person who has made the life I live possible. My mama’s time in the hospital revealed more things that needed attention and now we have changed paths. Life has a way of doing that, doesn’t it? So, instead of finding yet another frenzied gear to shift into to create all the pieces and all the parts I put into a giant show like Rhinebeck, I’m taking a pause, a gap year, a break. I know my focus is in the proper place. The festival has been very supportive and I plan on returning next year. I’m grateful for that, and will miss not being with all the wonderful folks in the magical “prom” that is Rhinebeck. 🧶🍁♥️ So, know potter is potting. Just at a slow pace. An almost glacial restorative pace where the making brings the calm. The wonderful place that creativity holds to sort, clear, and mend. No hustle here, just a lot of bee. 🐝
