RS EDEN's first foundational area of service was RECOVERY. In 1971, we began our work with veterans returning from Vietnam who were struggling with addiction.

From that, RS EDEN has evolved and become the robust programming that includes out-patient, residential, and our newest addition - the Withdrawal Management Program. It is through this full scope of services that in 2023, we served over 500 men and women on their path to health and sobriety.

Additionally, supporting the community and our participants, RSI Laboratories provided over 220,000 drug screenings in support of prevention and intervention.

Governor Tim Walz's Executive Order 24-11 marks a significant step in building recovery-friendly workplaces in Minnesota.

The order's goal to support employees dealing with substance use disorders by facilitating access to treatment, providing education on substance use, creating more inclusive work environments, and facilitating employees' reintegration into the workplace after treatment.

By leading through example, the hope is that state agencies will enhance training and resources on addiction and recovery, promoting a healthier workforce. The initiative reflects Minnesota’s status as a cutting edge state in addressing substance use, strengthening communities, and boosting economic resilience by reducing turnover and fostering long-term recovery.

This event is this up-coming Saturday, September 28th, from noon till 4pm at Eden House in the parking lot (with weather cooperating). This event is FREE and open to all!

A few weeks ago - many men and women at RS EDEN were recognized and acknowledged for their hard work and journey to sobriety. This is not an easy path - and the work each of them do is difficult. With determination and the support of our committed RS EDEN Recovery staff - new beginnings happen!

With hard work comes well deserved rewards and opportunities. We are incredibly proud to work with these men and women on their individual journeys. We congratulate the 2024 RS EDEN graduates!

A REMINDER: It's that time of year again - where we acknowledge and celebrate the up-coming graduation of our participants who have done their individual work to achieve growth, stability, and also sobriety.

This work happens on multiple levels - addressing substance use, housing instability, mental health, generational trauma, employment and many other issues.

Tomorrow on June 7th, we will all come together to take a moment to say "congratulations" for all your hard and individual work!

RS EDEN has been afforded the opportunity for our participants to go to several different games throughout the Minnesota Twins season. Their Community Relations team has given us blocks of tickets - and this last weekend, our first group went out - and watched the Twins win against the World Series Champion Texas Rangers!

We thank the MN Twins for allowing us this wonderful opportunity - as many of our staff and participants truly enjoy this chance to get out and see a game!

Each Spring - the RS EDEN staff work with our participants to clean up the area and plant many, MANY flowers to brighten up the area - but also encourage our participants to make their space their own! This year, a drop-in visitor stopped to lend a hand, and his voice of encouragement. Minneapolis Mayor, Jacob Frey stopped by and helped make our space at 614 Grant just a little brighter!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Here at RS EDEN, mental health and wellness is woven into every part of our agency. Whether it is our supportive housing, recovery, or criminal justice support programming - our highly trained and person-centered staff are here for all our participants.

This last Wednesday evening at the Sabathani Community Center, RS EDEN and several other community agencies and non-profit organizations were recognized for their impact in the community and awarded funding from the most recent Federal Appropriations.

This appropriation, secured with support from Minnesota District 5 Representative Ilhan Omar and Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, reflects a crucial investment in RS EDEN's mission to building new beginnings by offering stable housing solutions and substance use treatment for families in our community. The funds will be instrumental in making critical and needed improvements at the Lorraine, ensuring that its residents continue to have a safe, dignified and comfortable place to live while working on their recovery.

“RS EDEN is thrilled to be among the organizations supported by Rep. Omar. We’re incredibly grateful for the support and the recognition of not only the great need in the community to support families in recovery but also the impact RS EDEN is having as we partner with multiple generations on their journeys toward recovery.”

The funds from this federal appropriation will be used to update unit kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and windows as well as community spaces. These improvements will not only enhance the quality of life for residents but also contribute to the vitality of the community and longevity of the building.
