Yoga Sol Cooperative

The Yoga Sol Cooperative (YSC) is the only multi stakeholder yoga cooperative in Minneapolis, MN and is committed to making yoga accessible to all.

YSC offers yoga classes all on a pay-what-you-can basis. The studio offers regular yoga classes and special community events on a pay-what-you-can basis. For those who are able, the suggested contribution is $15. This studio was built on the foundation of Karma yoga or selfless service. By offering yoga on a pay-what-you-can basis we hope to make yoga accessible to everyone. The studio is 100 percent funded through the generous contributions from our students and community partners. Yoga Sol is a founding member of the Yes!Lets Collective, a local cohort of artists, musicians and community enthusiasts devoted to creating interactive events. Both foster an environment in which all participants can share equally in the joy of creation and we invite you to join! Yoga has the power to transform individuals and communities. At Yoga Sol we believe in this transformative power and strive to make it accessible to everyone regardless of their socio-economic status. We believe that by practicing yoga regularly one's physical, mental and spiritual health is greatly enhanced. Our studio is near and dear to many hearts. For nearly a decade, Yoga Sol has been a staple of the Northeast Minneapolis community, and our pay-what-you-can model made yoga more accessible for thousands of people. But as you know, the COVID-19 Pandemic changed everything. With waning attendance and revenue, and not to mention the exhaustion the pandemic has brought to our community, we are not able to sustain operations through the winter. Closing down is the last thing we want to do, and it breaks our hearts. However, we’re grateful to have served our community for as long as we have.

We would hate to close our doors without the chance to say goodbye in person. Stop by the studio on Sunday, September 26, from 6:30-8pm. We’ll have refreshments, and a number of Yoga Sol Cooperative instructors will be there to chat and reminisce.

As we clear out our space, we’ll also be giving equipment and props in exchange for contributions to the Cooperative’s final expenses.

Items available include yoga prop sets, sculpt prop sets, yoga mats, among other items. We’ll be posting on our Instagram account so keep an eye out to see what's available and to reserve yours!
