Hot flashes, anxiety, and brain fog — oh my!If you’re a woman in perimenopause (or deep in the pause itself), keep reading — this one’s for you.
I was recently invited to be a guest speaker in a 6-week course for women navigating perimenopause and menopause, and I jumped at the opportunity. Not only am I currently riding this wave of “WTF is happening to me?”, but nearly every woman I support — in private sessions and in my personal life — is, too.
We’re all talking about it because, let’s be honest, Western medicine gives women almost nothing to work with during this stage of life.They. Don’t. Even. Study. Our. Bodies.
And when you finally do go to your doctor for help? You’re lucky if you get more than a shrug and a prescription.
But here’s the thing: this stage of life isn’t a moment — it’s a third of your entire lifespan. A THIRD. You deserve more than the bare minimum and a bottle of antidepressants.
Most women have no idea that depression, anxiety, and even dementia (!!!) can be linked to fluctuating estrogen levels during perimenopause. I sure didn’t — and neither do most doctors. Again WTF?!?! This should be bare minimum.
A few years back, I went to my doctor for shoulder pain. Six months of physical therapy later, nothing had improved. Turns out, it wasn’t an injury at all — it was frozen shoulder, an extremely common symptom of perimenopause. My doctor should have connected the dots — my age, my hormones, the multitude of symptoms I was mentioning. What is the point of asking me when my last menstrual cycle happened if they are going to do nothing with that information?! The writing was on the wall. But they missed it entirely. I had to get my diagnosis from a random video I stumbled upon on TikTok.
These days, I get better advice about my ever-changing hormones from TikTok and a circle of women than I do from medical professionals. I’m grateful for hospitals but if you’re looking for REAL help to issues your body is having, doctors are mostly useless. — and I will stand ten toes down on that statement.
Conversations with other women can be lifesaving, but let’s be real — it’s still not enough. Most of us end up scrolling TikTok at midnight during one of those sleepless nights trying to decode our symptoms and praying for a golden nugget of wisdom.
That’s why I’m so excited about Braless and Lawless — a down-to-earth, honest, actually useful 6-week course created just for women in this stage of life. You don’t have to stumble into the right conversation or hope your algorithm delivers you help. Everything is laid out clearly by professionals who actually care about women’s bodies.
The topics are real, raw, and relevant — from how to tweak your makeup routine (so it highlights your radiance instead of clinging to your wrinkles like glitter at a 90s rave), to how to support your core (so you don’t end up in diapers 😅), to how to channel your holy rage into personal power.
I’ll be teaching one of the sessions — guiding you through how to energetically support your hormonal glands so you can have steady energy during the day, think clearly enough to finish your sentences (the struggle is real!), sleep through the night, and reconnect with that juicy, vital energy within you.And yes — all of this helps you become a calmer, more centered PAWrent to your beloved animal companions, too.
Even though I’m a guest teacher, you can bet your bottom dolla I’ll be attending every single class.
Braless and Lawless runs Tuesday evenings, 5:30–7:00 PM PST🗓️ November 4, 11, 18 (skip Thanksgiving week), December 2, 9, and 16
If this speaks to you — or if your body’s been whispering (or yelling) that it’s time to listen — I hope you’ll join us. Please share this with women in need because as we know, sharing is caring.
