DCYF's child safety and permanency programs help ensure children grow up in safe, stable, and supportive homes. We support families through adoption and kinship care with financial assistance, training, and access to counseling resources. This work is focused on strengthening families, securing permanent homes for children and youth, and preventing maltreatment.

Counties and Tribes deliver most of these services directly, while DCYF provides oversight, guidance, and resources to help keep children safe and families together whenever possible.
