I had so much fun at the MN Bridal show today with my Aunt and Cousin. We signed up kind of a lot of people for acupuncture. /Elizabeth gave away some books too.

I don’t typically run specials, mostly I hold good rates for my most loyal patients because they ARE my business. So this was definitely a new approach for me.

I’m hopeful that I got to meet some of my newest favorite people to work with.

Yay fertility acupuncture, yay acupuncture that works wonders on migraines. Yay acupuncture that is magic for stress.

Yay for family and community.

I am very sleepy now. 💖

It’s easy to feel the weight of everything going on in the world right now. It’s bad-bad.

But when you go to work without garden vegetables or homemade zucchini muffins and come home with them? Things feel a lot more manageable, like we are going to be ok as long as we take care of one another.

Or maybe it’s just zucchini season and it’s not that deep Jessica.

Everyone just decide on your own.

Families bring children in for every reason an adult would come in, plus the things that come up in childhood like:

Ear pain
Growing pains
Youth sports injury/recovery
Bed wetting
School anxiety
Sensitive nervous systems

I typically use Shonishin which is a non-inserting form of acupuncture. Acu without the actual puncture.

My very own rainbow baby turned 4 this week and we celebrated him with all the confetti, sprinkles, balloons, and dinosaurs Blue Ox Medicine could handle.

Shout out to for the use of her bounce house that won’t fit into that space next year because it will soon be 2 treatment rooms.

I help a lot of people make babies and then if I’m extra lucky I also get to help those babies through the years.

I help kiddos with:

💖 Bedwetting
🫶 Insomnia/disrupted sleep patterns
🐅 Cough
🎁 Problematic symptoms of being on a spectrum
💖Pain (body, head, teeth, growing, ear…all of it)
🫶 Eczema and other rashes (it’s probably dairy)
🐅 Could be thriving a little harder

And basically any reason that a grownup would come to see me.

There are thousands of years of theory, practice, and evidence behind what I do.

It’s all patterns and noticing.

The best part is that I very rarely (and never without explicit consent) do I need to use a needle that goes into the body.

Until they request “needle-needles” I use Japanese pediatric acupuncture or Shonishin.

This is something that I first learned in the states and now travel to Japan to “brush up on” (pun intended.

It doesn’t look like it should work but oh my goodness, it’s incredible.

I also use these tiny little cups.

I often use Pyonex stickers that you can only get in Japan (they don’t have needles in them, they are extra, extra special).

Sometimes I use moxa, especially to help nervous systems melt into balance.

I’m a pediatric acupuncturist and my job is pretty cool.

Fresh ginger (Sheng Jiang) is a criminally underrated Chinese herb.

This sweet slice will soon make its way to an abdominal point with a cone of moxa on it burning brightly.

The ginger + moxa will gently warm the middle in this beautifully stabilizing way.

This treatment is effective for nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, fatigue.

It also maybe just feels incredible.

Chinese medicine is lovely that way.
