At WellShare International, we know Minnesota’s health is inseparable from the health of our immigrant communities, Somali, Hispanic, and many others.

Right now, many families are afraid to leave home or seek care due to immigration enforcement, making it harder than ever to access basic health education and services. Our community health workers are meeting people where they feel safest, sharing clear, evidence-based information in Somali, Spanish, and other languages, and connecting families to trusted resources.

We are grateful for these communities, and we are committed to standing with them. As we look toward a healthier 2026, we’ll keep showing up, listening, and building practical, respectful solutions together.

The Board of Directors of WellShare International has named Evan Curtin as the new Executive Director of WellShare International.

Curtin’s background as an executive director has been tried and proven during two successful terms as Interim Executive Director of WellShare International and Executive Director of the Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery. These experiences, combined with his deep passion for community health and for expanding access for underserved, underrepresented, and marginalized communities, will help advance the organization's mission.

“WellShare’s mission to advance health equity through community-led solutions is not just a statement on paper for me—it’s the work that has defined my career,” said Evan. “I’m honored to lead an organization that trusts communities to define what health, dignity, and access should look like in their own lives.”
