Doctors at HCMC say they're seeing an unusually high number of carbon monoxide poisonings for this point in the season.

“Our patients are people. Such an important part of providing care is understanding where they’re coming from and where they’re at and helping them feel empowered in their healing process. When we say we’re ready to take care of everyone, we mean it. At Hennepin Healthcare, we rise to the level of need – whether it’s a major accident, tragic violence, or a pandemic, we’re here for the community.

I cared for a patient who had a lot of medical issues and trouble establishing trust with the healthcare system. I was able to develop a relationship with him, so he accepted care, improved, and returned to his life. I felt privileged because he was vulnerable with me, and I helped him make progress. After he was discharged, I found a piece of paper from him under my office door with a nice note thanking me for his care. That note is still on my bulletin board to help me keep perspective and stay motivated.”
