Yoga Sanctuary Yoga Sanctuary is a nonprofit studio seeking to increase access to holistic yoga for all who seek it

Yoga Sanctuary is a nonprofit, holistic studio, offering a place of respite and integration for your body, mind, and spirit. We seek to teach safe, fun relational yoga every day, to EVERY BODY, offering classes, workshops, and 230hr Yoga Teacher Training at sustainable prices fostering abundant access to holistic yoga. We recognize the disparity and inequity inherent in our country’s origin and intentionally offer reduced rates and scholarships to BIPOC folks who have been harmed by systemic racism. If you are experiencing financial hardship and want to join us for yoga, please connect with Shelley@YogaSanctuaryMpls.com - we want to share yoga, share life and share peace with you. The practice of yoga tells us that everything we need for peace and wholeness is already inside us but living and practicing yoga is best done in the context of a supportive community. Together, we will work to ignite the transformative and healing power of being fully present in our bodies and in our lives.

I do hope your ducks aren't in a row.
I pray your eggs aren't all in the same basket
and I definitely don't wish your ship to be tightly run.
Life happens in the space between perfect and free you see.
And joy cannot slip through the cracks if there are none,
nor can love grow wildly in a garden that's paved without a w**d in sight.
Growth needs a mix of battering rain and pure unfiltered sunlight.
Messy is holy.
And free is the prize.
Breathe out that stifled sigh and lie,
hand on your beating chest.
you came here to rise and rest,
amidst the eggs in many baskets,
and ducks waddling as they please.
cares all flowing wildly as they must,
into the breeze.

📣📣📣 New Class Alert- this one is just for the MEN! 📣📣📣
"We will be starting a weekly Yoga for Men class on Monday, April 6th, at 7:30 AM! I'm super excited as I've wanted to do something like this since I took my teacher training at Yoga Sanctuary." - Alex M.

Start your week off with an energizing and grounding yoga flow for all bodies, abilities, and experiences. Yoga For Men is a weekly space for men to come together and explore yoga. We will promote breath, flexibility, mobility, and stress relief tailored for men’s bodies.

In each class, we will calm the mind with breathwork, philosophy, and meditation. While strengthening the body with functional movement, core work, and stretching. This fun and welcoming space is meant to get more men into yoga in the hopes of creating a stronger community as well as stronger, healthier, and peaceful men.

Spaces like this are UNIQUE and SO VALUABLE. But it can be hard when you might be the only man in the room... so this one is for you- a yoga space led by men, shared by men, to benefit men. Thank you Alex for bringing your leadership and opening doors! @.mpls

Share this with a man in your life that may like to come to yoga! :)

It only takes a reminder to breathe,
a moment to be still, and just like that,
something in me settles, softens, makes
space for imperfection. The harsh voice
of judgment drops to a whisper and I
remember again that life isn’t a relay
race; that we will all cross the finish
line; that waking up to life is what we
were born for. As many times as I forget,
catch myself charging forward
without even knowing where I’m going,
that many times I can make the choice
to stop, to breathe, and be, and walk
slowly into the mystery

Yoga has taught me to “accept and allow”, to “be present to the now”, to “breathe and to be” with whatever is real rather than fighting or trying to control that which is not our to control. These practical teachings, practiced on my yoga mat in my body and mind, through the support my breath, fuel practical practices off of my mat, IN REAL LIFE. (Reflections from Instructor and Trainer Shelley Pagitt)

I can acknowledge that I really don’t like being cold and it makes me very uncomfortable, and, I can do a lot to support myself so the experience of being cold is less and the suffering caused by fighting the cold, is not my pattern anymore. Are you noticing any shift in the ways you think and experience that which you cannot control?

Have you ever been a part of a musical experience, either listening or participating in that touched you so deeply that it gave you goosebumps, felt transcendent, or spiritual even? There are reasons for this. And at the root, it's mindfulness and connection.

Join guest instructor Dr. Scotty Horey during this special one-time workshop Music and Mindfulness on Saturday April 4th where he will include a short educational presentation, discussion/Q&A, and both active and restful guided activities. You will learn about the connections between music, mindfulness, spirituality, and science based wellbeing using Dr. Horey's body-mind-heart-spirit-culture model.

Here is a sample of Dr. Horey's guidance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvIpadsLxxs

"Explore concentration, freedom from distraction, and a sustained experience with sound and music that can soak into your consciousness, heart, and stick into your memory. Furthermore, current events politically, economically, and through violence have given us fear and frayed tempers.

And now more than ever, I believe we should be responsible to turn inward to rediscover the inherent peace within all of us and experience how music can shift that within us and bring out our best. Before music, there must be silence. It's my hope this exercise I'm about to show you will prepare you to deepen your relationship with music, whether you're playing or just listening." - Dr. Scotty Horey

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
