What a morning! Eighteen members of the Coloplast team joined the Motor Rally at Minneapolis’ Mill City Museum to support the National Veterans Wheelchair Games and cheer as the Veterans rolled through a challenge course packed with trivia questions, checkpoints, and lots of laughter.

It’s moments like these that remind us why connection and community matter so much.

Disability is a normal part of how people are different from each other. However, mental health problems are often not noticed and not helped in communities with disabilities.

✨ Here’s what we can do together:
• Break the silence: Mental health stigma and disability stigma often go hand in hand. Speak up, share, and normalize both.
• Check in & listen: If someone you know is struggling gentle check-ins and active listening without fixing can be powerful
• Connect, don’t carry alone: You don’t have to do it all. There is accessible support—peer groups, therapy, telehealth, and disability-led mental health spaces.
• Celebrate identity: Disability is not something to “fix.” It’s part of human diversity and worth celebrating.
• Ask, don’t assume: One of the best ways to support someone is simply to ask, “How can I show up for you today?”
We don’t need to have all the answers—we just need to care, show up, and keep learning. Let’s uplift, not overlook.

July marks the anniversary of the ADA—signed on July 26, 1990—an act that ignited a movement for disability rights. Throughout the month, we will be celebrating the strength, resilience, and pride of the disability community.

We honor lived experiences and continue pushing for meaningful change — so let's show up, speak out, and lift each other up.

“The dogs would be freaked out by a wheelchair.”

That’s what Cheryl Angelelli was told just days before adopting two rescue pups.

The dogs went to another home, but Cheryl didn’t back down. She filed a complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)—and today she’s a proud dog mom to three pups who only care about being safe and loved.

Have you faced disability discrimination? You have rights under the ADA, which turns 35 this month.

The Coloplast Story

The Coloplast story begins back in 1954. Elise Sørensen is a nurse. Her sister Thora has just had an ostomy operation and is afraid to go out in public, fearing that her stoma might leak. Listening to her sister’s problems, Elise conceives the idea of the world’s first adhesive ostomy bag.

Based on Elise’s idea, Aage Louis-Hansen, a civil engineer and plastics manufacturer, and his wife Johanne Louis-Hansen, a trained nurse, created the ostomy bag. An ostomy bag that helps Thora – and thousands of people like her – to live the life they want to lead.

A simple solution that makes a difference.

Today, our business includes Ostomy Care, Continence Care, Wound & Skin Care and Urology Care. We operate globally and employ about 11,000 employees.
