It is with sadness, but thanks to those who have supported us, worked for us, visited us as patients, and been helpful to us or helped by us, that we at Minnesota Lung Center/ Minnesota Sleep Institute say farewell to the institution whose existence officially ended November 30, 2024.
The practitioners of the group may be found at Allina now, where we do have access to your medical records and are glad to continue to serve you.

For our patients who were ordered a home or sleep center sleep test just before the 7/1/24 Allina take over—-please be patient. Your study is being ordered through Allina now and the prior authorization will be done by them once they contact you to confirm the test date. Due to new equipment installation at the Sleep clinics (Edina, Northstar), in lab tests are taking longer to schedule as both labs are closed in July. Home test kits will be delivered in person at the clinics going forward (not shipped by FedEx), with in person education. You will be contacted about your sleep test appointment. 612-262-7100 only for urgent questions, please! Thank you for your patience.
For clinic appointments, many changes have resulted from the transition to Allina, including clinic remodeling which resulted in clinic closures. All locations will be open for scheduled visits again 7/15/24. If you haven’t talked to Allina, please download MyChart to check your clinic appt date and time or call Allina to confirm the day before you come.

The last day of June 2024 will be the last day of Minnesota Lung Center and Minnesota Sleep Institute as a private practice…but we are still here, now part of the Allina Health Care system of clinics. You can find us at our usual locations in Edina, Minneapolis, West Health Campus, and at Northstar in Fridley. Our NEW PHONE number is 612-262-7100.
Medical records from our old MLC MSI computer record system can be accessed by signing a release of information form. Call and ask for Medical Records. Records created during future appointments will be an entirely new chart—please bring any important records you wish to share for your next appointment, such as old sleep tests, CT scans or breathing tests.
All locations of our clinics, now known as ABBOTT NORTHWESTERN PULMONARY AND SLEEP, will be closed for appointments 7/1/24-7/14/24 while we install new computers, phones, and sleep testing equipment. But rest assured, during this period Allina is busy transferring existing appointments to the new computers—-NO APPOINTMENTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED—. If you have an appointment, keep it. It may be prudent to call to see if the time has changed should your appointment be booked in the next 2 months. Due to installation of new Sleep lab testing equipment, sleep studies in late July have had to be RESCHEDULED—-but are still going forward as soon as possible! Allina will be calling you!
If you have not downloaded the Allina MyChart App, we highly recommend it for future booking of appointments and earliest test results.
The Allina website will have up to date information after 7/1/24.

Update: after July 1, 2024 our name will change to “Abbott Northwestern Pulmonary and Sleep”; we will have a new phone number but offices in Edina, Minneapolis, WestHealth campus, and NorthStar Sleep will continue operations.

Our thanks to the many patients and staff over the years who knew us as Minnesota Lung Center and Minnesota Sleep Institute. We have been privileged to be of service. We look forward to new service as part of Allina for many years to come.

Starting 4/1/24 Minnesota Lung’s Burnsville and Woodbury’s offices will close. You will find us at the Edina and Fridley locations. All other offices remain open!
