A year ago, our new building was only a couple of levels above ground.

Now we've reached its highest height. We expect to welcome our first patients in the Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center in the fall of 2026. Before that, we will be building out the internal spaces: brand new patient rooms, surgery suites, cafeteria, lobby and more.

The Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center, our new under-construction building, will be the first in the Allina Health system to be certified to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. LEED buildings are designed to be efficient and have operational cost savings.

This week, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the new community solar garden on the roof of our Purple Parking Ramp.

Allina Health Facilities Management Vice President Tony LaCroix-Dalluhn started his career as a medical technician in our hospital’s Emergency Department. He studied to become a registered nurse and was promoted to director of nursing.
